At Cooney Technologies, we believe that work is not just about hitting numbers and crossing off to-do lists. Sure, that stuff is crucial, but we also value building relationships and team bonding through a good dose of fun. Because let’s face it, work is better when it’s fun, right?
That’s why we decided to hit the pause button and decided it was time for a change of scenery. So, we packed our bags and took our whole team down to sunny Orlando. Time to swap those office chairs for loungers by the pool, right?
Thursday our team flew into Orlando in waves and checked into our Airbnb. We started off our retreat with some food and drinks by the pool, while watching Thursday night football. It was a great time for everyone to catch up on what had been happening in each other’s lives.
Our Friday adventure started with a trip to Revolution Off Road for some fun and games. It turned out to be an amazing day with some muddy experiences – Matt and Jerry won the dirtiest person award, and some of the team ended up taking a dip in the lake to rinse off. They were lucky that Florida gators were nowhere to be seen! After lunch, our team went on for some jet ski rides and played a mostly friendly game of archery tag.
The evening brought a scavenger hunt showdown back at the house, led by team captains Matt H. and Bezzy. There was a flurry of activity as teams raced to guess state slogans, hunt for hidden clues, and solve puzzles. We wrapped up the day with a gourmet four-course meal cooked by a private chef and a competitive round of Cooney Technologies Jeopardy in the movie theater.
On Saturday we gave our team a day to explore Orlando on their own terms. Some went bass fishing, while others opted for a chill day at the spa or poolside. A few adventurous souls even ventured into the enchanting world of Disney World.
After a weekend full of fun, we finally wrapped up our team building and headed home on Sunday. It was great to take some time off from work and bond with each other as a team.
